Sadly I never got to see or talk to John in the last few years of his amazing life. He was the sort of person that would help anyone and always be there to help when needed. He loved boats and was a regular at Hawley Lake, he probably spent more time maintaining them than being out on the water but despite a few moans and groans he enjoyed repairing things. John was an inspiration to numerous Sea Cadets and staff and will be missed. RIP John say hello to Lew Trinder when you are sailing along up there.
